Paving delays before traffic shift outside Thomson


THOMSON - Reeves Construction Company will pave new US 78/State Route (SR) 17 travel lanes between Ridge Road and Smith Mill Road Tuesday. Delays are required for safety, which means a pilot vehicle will get travelers through the area.

Then on Wednesday, weather permitting, contractors will shift traffic to new alignment in this two and a half mile area.

This work comes under the ongoing 6.728 miles of widening and reconstruction on US 78 beginning at SR 43 and extending to Smith Mill Road. The project includes four bridges and approaches over Hart Creek and over Big Creek.
