Park news

Yellowstone National Park got its first snow this year on October 1, and on November 5 all roads closed to cars and trucks except the one through the Northern Range between Gardiner and Cooke City, Montana. Winter facilities such as shops and lodging at Mammoth and Old Faithful Village will reopen the weekend of December 15-16 for people who arrive by oversnow vehicles.

Holiday bazaar in Oakland, California

Please join the author at her residence, Lake Park Retirement Center, to shop for holiday gifts, many handmade, in addition to all three of her books at holiday sale prices. Yellowstone, Land of Wonders, published by University of Nebraska Press, will be available for $25. The bazaar will be held in the main lounge at 1850 Alice Street, Oakland, on Wednesday, December 5th from 11 am to 2 pm. Parking is very tight but can usually be found along Lake Merritt or on neighboring streets. The 19th Street BART station is only four blocks away.
