Tis the Season of Snacking
As the holiday season comes into full swing, I’m planning to increase my intake of micronutrients to stay full and avoid eating too many holiday treats.
It’s easy to add an extra green juice (or two) to my day such as this one or simply switch out crackers and chips with more veggies and fruits as snacks.
A good rule of thumb this time of year is to swap foods that come in bags and boxes for fresh foods of the season.
If you don’t have time to make these green-pulp crackers or veggie-based chips, you can always slice an apple or pear to make a nice cracker for dip or simply chop up your favorite veggies like carrots, peppers, celery, cucumbers or radishes. Sprinkle your veggies with lime juice and sea salt or dip them in Roasted Eggplant Party Dip or Harissa & Roasted Red Pepper Hummus.
Juice & snack on,
Joe Cross
