AN URGENT PLEA TO OUR FRIENDS
PLEASE CONSIDER CONTRIBUTING

TO OUR
PROVENANCE ARTS
CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN

In July 2018 Injalak Arts opened Provenance Arts in Darwin. To know the provenance of something is to know its true origin, its source. At Provenance Arts we are dedicated to helping our visitors understand and appreciate that the provenance of all Indigenous arts and crafts is important. This also means they can buy with the confidence, assured their purchases are authentic and ethical.

It's been a massive undertaking for us - Provenance Arts is a truly groundbreaking project. It took over a year in preparation and effort and lots of cash and that's why we're sending this email. Last month we launched a Start Some Good crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to buy directly from art centres. We're aiming for $25K - that's $2,500 for 10 art centres. Buying artworks outright is a key way of making a difference - that money will flow directly to artists in remote communities and will encourage them to continue making more art. Provenance Arts is a hit with art centres - in four months we've gone from 12 to 29 and we want to support them all.

We have a little problem - the campaign closes in TWO DAYS and we're only halfway there.

Bottom line - if we don't reach 'tipping point' we don't get any of the pledges already made and that would be awful. We urge you to consider supporting us.

If you want a bit more encouragement, have a look at our short video about our shop, gallery and demonstrators here. Provenance Arts is unlike any space you've been in before. It's so much more than an art gallery - we've combined shopping, exhibitions, learning opportunities, demonstrations, workshops, audio-visual, music plus a specialist Indigenous cultural tourism information service. We welcome and guide our visitors through an amazing world of Indigenous culture, art and wisdom and encourage them to have adventures in remote Australia.

Oh, and did we mention there are some fabulous and very special REWARDS as part of the campaign?

As well as some little goodies we also offer singly or as a suite 11 superb limited edition screen prints with the subject  'Women's Fertility' created for a special event in 1999. Below is Naminapu Maymuru-White's Life Cycle print.

At Provenance Arts our key point of difference is our 'Experience Space' with its diverse, inclusive and constantly changing activities and events. That's not in our video (just not enough time) but there are some great photos in our crowdfunding campaign - have a look!

Supporting our crowdfunding campaign will make you a sustainer of a bold new social enterprise: Provenance Arts.

Thank you from Injalak Arts and Indigenous Australian artists all around remote Australia!

QUALITY. AUTHENTIC. AFFORDABLE. ETHICAL.
