15th bentART 2019

bentART 2019 Categories and Prizes
The bentART Committee has finalised the categories and prizes, and these are listed on our website: http://bentart.com.au/bentart-2019/. The value of the prizes will not be announced until we have finalised our sponsors for this year.
Entering your artwork remains at $20 for each piece, $5 for Pets & Wildlife Smartphone-ography, and $10 for the new Postcard category (this does not include $5 for the board).

Fund-raising Trivia afternoon
As a not-for-profit organisation, bentART is always seeking ways to fund the exhibition and organising costs. This year we are excited to announce a Trivia event to be held on Sunday, February 10 at Wentworth Falls Golf Club. See below for details and let us know by email to: bentART President

New Postcard category
This category is generating a lot of interest and some really good questions. Here is a summary of this new category:
- it is a unique category, with its own prize and entry cost
- the artwork could be a painting, collage, drawing, or photograph
- a bentART supplied board must be used, cost is $5
- it is approximately A6 size - 17 x 12 cm, 6mm MDF board, prepared and sealed ready to use
- the boards will be ready for collection from January 22nd
- the boards can be collected:
- at the workshop (details below)
- they can also be picked up from either Parramatta or Wentworth Falls (email the bentART President to arrange)
Q & A
- Can anyone enter?
- Yes, as long as you are a member of the LGTBI community and are a current financial bentART member (sign up here)
- Do I have to go to your workshop to be able to submit an entry for that category?
- No, it is not compulsory for entry, but you do need to purchase and collect a board
- How do I interpret the Reassessing Normal theme for this year?
- How you interpret the theme is completely up to you
- Does the board have to be completed at the workshop?
- No, the event is to generate your creative spirit and it doesn't need to be started and/or finished there. The standard bentART exhibition entry dates apply
- Can I do a sculpture of the same size?
- No, it must be two dimensional and submitted on the supplied board
- I have other questions, where should I send them?

Creative Workshop
To kick start your thinking and creating, we will be holding a free workshop for bentART members or $20 for non-members (payable on the day), where you can buy your board at $5, share ideas with others and start (maybe even finish!) creating your artwork. Some art materials will be supplied, but please feel free to bring your own.
This workshop will be run by our very own Vice President and well known artist and facilitator, Chia Moan on Sunday, 24 March 2019. Bookings are essential as space is limited, please email the bentART President.
Entry into this category is $10 with 1 entry per member. All entries will be available for sale at the exhibition, the same as other category entries.

Membership for bentART 2019 is open. Membership runs from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019, so don't wait until the last minute to renew your membership, do it now at the same low price of $10 per annum. For all the details and to complete the online form click Join Now button.

Donations are always welcome and all monies received goes towards funding the annual bentART exhibition. If you make a donation of $50 or more, you instantly become a Friend of bentART which entitles you to free entry to the Opening Night Preview.
