VMS December Webinar on Mental Health
Recently, the mental health system in Vermont has been under intense scrutiny and pressure to deliver care to a higher volume of patients with higher mental health acuity. A recent report found 80 percent of emergency department (ED) patient intakes in Vermont are for mental health needs. Hospitals and clinicians have been called upon to develop better systems of care for mental health patients, while legislators and other decision-makers are seeking solutions to increase mental health capacity across the state and to alleviate ED wait times for all patients.

Please join the Vermont Medical Society on Thursday, December 20th from 12-1PM for our December webinar entitled, Status Report: Vermont's Mental Health Care System. Our presenters include:
  • Mourning Fox, the Interim Commissioner of Vermont's Department of Mental Health
  • Louis Josephson, CEO of the Brattleboro Retreat
  • Dr. Bob Pierattini, Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at UVM Medical School
We have opened this webinar to a broader audience to include lawmakers and other decision-makers who will be faced with critical decisions regarding mental health this session. Typically we charge a small fee for non-members to participate in our webinars, but for this important topic, we are waiving all fees. CME credit is available for this webinar.
