County Solicits Comments on Proposed Commercial Marijuana Grow at 4050 Grange Road
Permit Sonoma has sent the Bennett Valley Community Association an application for a Cannabis Use Permit for a one-acre of outdoor cannabis cultivation on a 14.6-acre parcel zoned resources and rural development (RRD) at 4050 Grange Road. This property is within the Bennett Valley Area Plan. The planning application, Biological Assessment, and Hydrology Study are too large to attach, but can be found on the BVCA web site under Projects Affecting Bennett Valley:

If you wish to file comments, the deadline has been set for December 24 (Christmas Eve). Because many people are involved with family and other obligations during December, I requested a two-week extension to January 7, 2019. Tennis Wick, who heads Permit Sonoma, seems willing to grant an extension but so far no specific date has been set.
Permit Sonoma solicits comments on any of the following issues:
(1) statement of any environmental concerns or uncertainties with the project;
(2) any comments regarding the merits of the project; and
(3) your proposed conditions and mitigations for this project.
Comments should be sent to Deborah Drasler (debd@migcom.com; 714-871-3638). Comments were solicited in June 2018 for marijuana cultivation at an adjacent site at 4065 Grange Road. If you commented on that project, or commented to a supervisor, your views will probably not be considered for this specific permit unless you send them to Deborah Drasler.
