December 1 – 8 – Postal Strike
The disruption due to the postal strike has now ended, though it will take some time to get back to normal. This issue of the Praise & Prayer, along with the Update are late getting in the mail.
We are now less than one month before our year-end and we close the financial books for another year. Pray that God will provide the shortfall in the financial support that we are experiencing.
Pray for the Digo and Taveta recordings that were distributed to church leaders in November.
David Elliott praises God for the good trip to Kenya last month.
Pray for the Kenya Board as they work through the change in leadership in April.
December 9 – 15 – Recordists Training
Praise God for the recordists from Asia who have spent the last few weeks training in Thailand.
Pray that they will have perfected techniques that will lead to better recordings.
Praise God for the trainers from Thailand, Australia, UK and from Kenya.
James Shikuku from Kenya is one of the trainers. Pray for James as he flies home on the 15th -16th.
Praise God for the combined efforts of GRN Thailand and Myanmar to record the books of Mathew and Mark. Pray for the distribution of these audio recordings in the Moken language.
Pray for Nyaw people as there is no church in their language. GRN Thailand is working on translating scripts in the language, for future recordings.
December 16 – 22 – Kenya
Pray for the transitions taking place in Kenya.
Pray for Mr. Esau Riaroh as he takes over as the Kenya Board chair from Dr. George Kimeu. Director Winston Omenya, is retiring in April.
Walter Okelo, has been appointed the Interim National Team Leader. Pray for Walter as he takes on this new role in the coming weeks.
Boaz Inyama and Winston Omenya have accepted a 2 year term as new Board members. Pray for the Kenya Board as they work through the transition of leadership and other changes that will take place in the coming months.
Pray for James Inyama, a senior recordist who is taking on the responsibility of technical department
Pray that we will see an increase in funding for the ministry in Kenya. Increased support is needed to meet the needs.
December 23 – 30 - Saviour is born
This week our focus should be on Jesus as we celebrate his birth. Pray for those living and serving in lands where the good news of Jesus is not accepted.
“9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” (NIV)
Praise God for the opportunities He gives you to celebrate his name throughout this Christmas season.
Pray that our year-end financial deficit will be covered by December 31st.
Pray for David Elliott as he finishes the end of year responsibilities in the office.
Give thanks for those who have supported the ministry in 2018. The last minute donations to the ministry must be in the mail by last day of December.
