Warrior E-News: your weekly dose of what's new, what's up at your Lakeside Lutheran High School
View this email in your browser
A masterful 5 minutes of video that celebrates 60 years of your Lakeside Lutheran.
Three generations of Warriors -- whom will you recognize?

It's Giving Tuesday today...we asked for 10% giving participation among each of 6 groups--alum, board members, faculty/staff, families, friends, and students--to represent 60 years, past and present, of Lakeside, and you are responding! It's not too late to add your donation today to directly benefit student assistance.  Where is your fit in #bethe60? Give online at www.llhs.org/apps/pages/bethe60 or send your donation (any amount appreciated!) to LLHS Development Office, 231 Woodland Beach Rd. Lake Mills, WI 53551. Thank you!

Foster Support meetings & Toy Drive reminder
In Wisconsin alone, over 7,200 children are in foster care, and up to 80% of foster parents opt out of fostering within two years due to inadequate support. For info on how you can assist Kingdom Workers Foster Support Program, there are three informational meetings be held at Federation churches THIS week:
  • Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 6pm - Immanuel, Farmington
  • Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6:30pm - St. Paul, Ixonia
  • Thursday, Nov. 29 at 5:30pm - St. Luke, Watertown
Our National Honor Society has partnered with Kingdom Workers to support its new Foster Support Program with a Toy Drive to help brighten the lives of children living in foster care.

The toy drive will "tip off" at the LES B-Team Tip-off on Saturday, Dec. 1 at LL. If you're coming to campus, please bring a NEW toy or donation to give us a great start. The drive begins for Warrior teens on Monday, December 3; every LL student is encouraged to participate by bringing a new toy to school. Finally, on Monday, Dec. 10 and Tuesday, Dec. 11, all fans who bring a new toy receive free admission to the home basketball games (GBB v. Stoughton, BBB v. Marshall). The toy drive concludes Thursday, Dec. 13, when NHS members will wrap gifts to be distributed to foster children and families. There are some specific toys that are in need; find the list on the NHS page.

Christmas Concert Dec. 16
Please mark your calendar to celebrate our patient wait for the Christ child this Advent by joining your Warrior bands and choirs at the Christmas Concert Sunday, Dec. 16 at 7 pm in the East gym. Come see the gym transformed into a sanctuary of praise for "THE WARRIOR for Warriors!"

STEM Academy New Student Application open
Next year's students interested in pursuing enrollment in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Academy are reminded that an application must be filled out. Deadline is January 4 and includes 2 letters of reference, so requests should be made ASAP. Find more info and forms here!

Handbook Highlight: Assignments
When absent, class assignments are available upon request. Parents are encouraged to contact the office as early in the day as possible to make that request. Students are encouraged to contact their teachers electronically through email in order to keep current with assignments. Requested assignments using paper and books will be ready for pick up at the end of the school day.
