25% Off, So What?

I created a rare storewide 25% off code (use "Flat-25-off-week" at checkout). Then I wondered, what would I do with it if I were you?
I've already tried nearly everything in the shop—every pattern, every yarn & color, every hook! Here's what came to mind.

My angora yarn stash and crochet projects over the years.

Choosing Holiday Crochet Projects

Anything about the season inspires me to crochet. Just a cold snap will do it! So do sparkly colors, a mall display, or finally finding where I stored my angora yarn stash over the summer (pictured above!).
I go a bit crochet-crazy, but crochet is also my anchor and helps with other holiday stress.
Below are projects and supplies I've grouped into three kinds of holiday crocheting.
What inspires you this time of year?

#1 Peaceful Oasis

These holiday crochet projects help me slow down, recharge, and enjoy each moment.
Orbit Cowl jumped to mind so fast that I started a new one last night in angora! (I added a slip stitch rib strip in the one shown above).
It's a spiral so it feels fast. Easy to set down and pick up again. No-fuss: any yarn type and I can just stop when I run out
Pictured at left:
In 2017 it was Solstice Bangles for me. 2016: Big Hook Bucket. 2014: Bling Bangles. 2013: Luckyslip Mitts. 2011: Antoinette Sparklescarf.

#2 Niche Gifts

One reason handmade gifts are special is the maker can customize each one to the recipient. With crochet we can make an amazing range of items!

Men, teens, tweensteachers, mothers-in-law? No problem. (Click each to see project ideas.)

Also see these project categories: wintergeneral-purpose gifts, 1-skein or 2-skein projects, quick gifts.

#3 Gifts for Myself or Other Crocheters

I tend to think of splurging on my craft two times a year: in July when I'm in the CGOA conference market, and in December.
If I didn't already have everything in my shop, I'd splurge on:
-A set of Tulip hooks (pink one for home, smaller set for my bag)
-Tunisian hooks I don't already have
-The set of jumbo hooks
-Cones of Lotus
-Glittery and glow colors of Jelly Yarn
-Three Snack Six Packs for a total of 18 different colors.
-Patterns: Weightless, Eilanner, Rosepuff, StarwirbelDJC!

This fall seemed like half double season to me: the same day I created the diagram at left, I saw Pia Thadani's 3rd loop of hdc tutorial. I almost made issue #96 the HDC Issue!
