Christmas in the City of Kalamunda

The City of Kalamunda is spreading Christmas cheer with an exciting line-up of festive activities this holiday season. Starting from today and running until 21 December, all activities are free and suitable for the whole family to enjoy.

Mayor John Giardina said, “The community spirit at this time of year is both magical and contagious. It’s a time for everyone to come together, whatever our differences, to spread kindness and generosity. We invite our community to join in the festive fun at the many events on offer throughout the City this December."

Seniors Week Success

The 2018 City of Kalamunda Seniors Week celebrations wrapped up late last month, having been hailed the best yet. Seniors from across the community joined the week of free fun and activities from bingo to beach-side lunches. Seniors Week is an annual event that acknowledges and celebrates the contributions made by seniors living in the City of Kalamunda.

State and local governments are calling on the support of community members to help ensure Western Australia remains free from the establishment of European wasps.

The declared pest thrives in rural and urban areas and has a profound impact on people, horticulture and the local environment. Residents are urged to help report sightings via the free MyPestGuide app or by adopting a trap from mypestguide.agric.wa.gov.au.

Free Movie Festival Returns this Summer

The City of Kalamunda's Summer Series is back again this season with seven nights of free outdoor movie screenings at locations around the City.

Commencing 5.30pm each Friday night from 11 January 2019 , the Summer Series includes a range of big screen favourites from Aladdin to The Incredibles 2. Kids activities, food vans and free popcorn will also be on offer, so grab the picnic blanket and deck chairs for a night under the stars.
