Hey kids, get into the spirit of Christmas at your local library!

Create beautiful Christmas craft and join in with some festive carols.  Bookings are essential and can be made online from Monday, December 3 at mackay.qld.gov.au/whatson.

The Summer Reading Club is on again!
With a “Curious Creatures!” theme, this summer’s club is packed full of fun and creativity.
Participation in the Summer Reading Club is free and is a fun and safe program to keep the kids busy this summer.

All children who register for the Summer Reading Club go into a national draw to win 1 of 8 iPods. Register at any of our library branches or online at summerreadingclub.org.au/theclub/registration/
 
We’ve made it easier for your child to find reading material for the Summer Reading Club. From real creatures to the imagined, actual to mythological, microscopic to megafauna, and Australia’s marvellous marsupials to all the classification of Animalia in between.
 
Learn about real life animal heroes, explore the concept of anthropomorphic characters and celebrate Australian classics plus much more!

3D Printing


Inspire a new interest in design and bring your creations to life with our 3D printing service.
 
Submit your 3D print request at mackay.qld.gov.au/print or drop in your design to your local library branch on a USB stick.
 
Printing costs are charged at $0.25c per gram and can take up to one week for your print to be ready.
 
Designs must be saved as .STL or .OBJ files, which can be created on free programs like tinkercad.com, which also offer free designing tutorials.

Creative Shots People's Choice Exhibition


Each year, Creative Shots Photo Club holds a ‘People’s Choice’ Exhibition where printed images are displayed for the public to enjoy and ‘vote’ for their favourite.

The theme for 2018 is Australia, covering all aspects of Australia and Australian Life. People (environmental portraits) – Places (landscapes, street scenes) and of course – Life (activities,sports, social gatherings etc things we do as Australians).  View the exhibition and cast your vote.

Bedtime Stories

A fun evening for all children and their families.
 
The session features nursery rhymes, finger plays, stories, songs and a craft activity.
