We are the County’s designated nonprofit green bank, with a mission to expand financing options for clean energy and energy efficiency projects in Montgomery County.

 
Here's the news for November:
  1. We've improved our Commercial Loan for Energy Efficiency and Renewables (CLEER) so that it may better suit your customers' needs! See what's new!
  2. Customizable marketing materials are now available! We're helping you explain the benefits of CLEER to your customers with free information sheets that you can customize to include in your proposals. 
  3. Focusing on helping clients undertake their 2019 energy improvement projects? Listen to our recent webinar on financing options CLEER and C-PACE to help customers needing funding to initiate their projects. The recording is now available!

Announcing Enhancements to our Commercial
and Industrial Loan Program!

See What's New with our
Commercial Loan for Energy Efficiency
and Renewables (CLEER)!
 
We have been in conversations with the contractor community since we launched CLEER earlier this year. We heard that some program enhancements could help you with customers and projects, so we undertook some changes in response.

Keep the feedback coming! We want to make sure this product works for you and for your customers.

Here is what we've changed:
  • CLEER can be used for projects that only have solar PV. There is no longer a requirement to include one Pepco measure with each project. NEW: Solar PV-Only Installers are now eligible to be CLEER Authorized Contractors.  (See below for how to become an Authorized Contractor.)
  • Up to 50% of the Pepco incentive for a project can be financed in the loan.
  • Nonprofits can get a break on the CLEER Program fee, down to as little as 0.99%. Work with a Participating CLEER Lender to secure.
  • Building Tune-Ups are eligible for CLEER. While we have a 15% target for energy savings, we realize this is not always possible with the Building Tune-Up. For that reason, we will accept this Pepco prescriptive measure without the need to reach the 15% energy savings target.

Now Available!
 
Our new information sheets can be co-branded so they carry your company logo and contact information. This is for the exclusive use of CLEER Program Authorized Contractors and will help you promote your business, and help your customers understand the benefits of the CLEER loan if they are considering an energy improvement project.

The sheet has been sized to make it easier for you to include them in your proposals. We also offer a standard sheet that does not include contractor information. Contact Montgomery County Green Bank at info@mcgreenbank.org to get the digital format to use with your logo.

Webinar on Financing Options for
Energy Improvements in Montgomery County
 
On November 15th, we held a webinar, Financing Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Improvements, to help Montgomery County energy contractors understand all the options available for commercial and industrial businesses as they go through capital improvement budgeting and decision-making for 2019 and 2020.

In this session, Tom Deyo from the Montgomery County Green Bank and Lindsey Shaw from the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection walked through current financing options regarding the Commercial Loan for Energy Efficiency and Renewables (CLEER) and the Commercial PACE (C-PACE) programs. These programs are available to your commercial and industrial customers (including multifamily owners and common ownership communities) and can help them move forward if they have been unable to get budget funding to cover their projects, or to help them finance larger projects than they could afford on their own.

The process is easy and it costs nothing.
 
  • Are you already a Pepco-approved Service Provider with commercial customers? 
  • NEW!! Or are you a Solar PV Installer?

Follow this simple step to be added to the CLEER Authorized Contractor list:

Then, before you submit a project:
  • Take a one-hour training on our CLEER Program and its processes.
  • Meet any CLEER Participating Lender requirements.
