Dear Students, Families, Alumni, Parishioners, and Friends of ASB School,

Happy first Wednesday of Advent!  I want to start by thanking the fifth graders for leading the school in a lovely prayer service on Monday.  What a wonderful way to start the Advent season!

This first week of Advent is centered on hope.  As I reflect on hope, I cannot help but think it is the true reason we are all here at ASB.  Of course I love the themes of joy, love, and peace that come in the next three weeks of Advent, but hope is really why we are here.  It is our hope for each student – who they will be, what they will do, how they will live – that drives each day.  What an enormous gift to us to be able to work together as adults with the purpose of fostering, inspiring, and preserving hope in our children.

This Saturday, A World of Pure Imagination will be an evening filled with hope.  Our hopes for the future and sustainability of ASB School, our hope for what we will be able to provide our students, and our hope for an evening full of community and joy!  Thank you to everyone who has worked on this important event.  Thank you to the many volunteers who have procured items, worked on class projects, helped with décor, embraced data entry, will work the event itself, and more. Your efforts and dedication are the epitome of hope for ASB!  As always, thank you to our marvelous chairs Melissa, Diane, and Jenny.  We look forward to seeing you Saturday in Fremont.  Raise those bid cards high!  If you can’t join us, please continue to visit the online auction as there are lots of great items!

Nothing brings hope like new babies!  Congratulations to our KA aide, Anne Dodge, who became a grandma yesterday morning.   Her granddaughter, Berlin Visdal York, was born shortly past midnight on December 4.  She weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and mom, Kelly is doing well! We are so happy for you and your family, Anne.

Here’s to hope.  Have a wonderful week!

Best,
Kathleen Conklin

Christmas season is upon us!  The ASB Christmas Concert is scheduled for Thursday, December 13th, 7:00pm at St. Bridget Church.  Please put this on your calendar as it is a required event for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade as well as the Choir and Concert Band.  More information will be released as the date nears closer.  If you have any questions please contact Mr. Turner or Mr. Van Pelt. We can't wait to see you there!

The deadline for PreK & Kindergarten applications is December 21!

Are you a current ASB family with a younger child at home planning to come to ASB PreK or Kindergarten next year? If so, sumit an application TODAY. Current school families have priority enrollment, but to accurately save enough spots for all siblings, we must receive applications as soon as possible!

IMPORTANT INFO FOR CURRENT FAMILIES:
  • If your child is a current ASB PreK student moving onto Kindergarten here at ASB, you do NOT need to complete an application.
  • If you are a current ASB family applying for PreK or Kindergarten, you do NOT need to complete a Parish Reflection Form along with your application. Unless you have recently joined one of our parishes, we have one on file for your family from Spring 2018. You will be required to complete the Parish Reflection Form in spring 2019, as an annual part of Registration. Questions? Please email me.
Completed applications should turned into Admissions Director Kelley Kane.

Parent Board coordinates volunteers to compile the hours and report final numbers to the school office. All incomplete hours will be billed via FACTS in June.
