Their Dreams Come True

Lilian and Carol came knocking on our field office doors this week.   They are both 14 years old and the future is potentially very bright for them.  Yes, I said potentially.   Although they both performed exceptionally well at the just concluded 8th grade national exit exam, they are unable to join high school due to lack of financial support.  They are in desperate need for sponsorship to join Tumaini International Girls High School in January 2019.  

Lilian is the only child of a single mother, who is unfortunately mentally challenged and therefore unable to take care of her.  Lilian has been given shelter by her aunt Elizabeth who has her own three kids to care of from meager resources. Lian’s dream is to one day become a doctor and help others.  

Carol is the third born in a family of three.  Her single mom Gladys performs odd jobs to provide for the children but is financially unable to support Carol in High School.  Like Lilian, Carol performed exceptionally well in her grade 8 national exit exam. She is very interested in joining Tumaini International Girls High School January next year.  Carol’s dream is to  complete high school and pursue a degree in education so that she can one day become a teacher.

The good news is that both Lilian and Carol have realistic career dreams.  They are bright and determined girls. I am asking someone to step in and provide $35 sponsorship needed for each per month.
