Dear Friends of Roedde House,
The holiday season approaches! Regardless of which holidays you celebrate, we hope that the season is excellent for you and yours.
For the month of December, we return to our reduced winter hours after the closing of the Memories of the Future III exhibition. The house is certainly feeling festive, as we decorated at our annual Christmas Party on November 27th.
Last but not least, Roedde House has a new staff member! Montanna Mills is our new Community Engagement Coordinator as we say goodbye to Darcie Dyer. Read on for more information!
Looking forward to seeing you this December or in the New Year!
Happy Holidays,
Kelsey and Montanna

Exhibition Closure: Memories of the Future III
Diyan Achjadi and Cindy Mochizuki
Curated by Katherine Dennis
September 25 – November 18, 2018
Photo: Kelsey Johnson.
The exhibition Memories of the Future III closed on November 18th with a special twist on our tea and tour - a visitor's stitch and sip! Artists Diyan Achjadi and Cindy Mochizuki led several visitors in embroidery crafts and shared specialty tea and treats. What an excellent way to close this wonderful art exhibition!
A huge thank you to Curator Katherine Dennis, artists Diyan Achjadi and Cindy Mochizuki, and our dedicated Volunteers. We are also grateful for the support of the Government of British Columbia, the British Columbia Arts Council and the City of Vancouver.

Concert Series
Violinist Nancy DiNovo will perform a solo program entitled Chaconne on January 13th. The concert features two monumental works for solo violin written two centuries apart - the Bach D Minor Partita from 1723 and the Bartok Solo Sonata from 1944. These two works represent the pinnacle of violin writing and musical expression from their respective style periods and are expertly interpreted by the masterful DiNovo.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, seniors and members. Show begins at 4 pm. Please arrive 15-20 minutes in advance for seat selection.
*These concert series would not be possible without the generous support of the McGrane Pearson Fund and the Vancouver Foundation.*

Welcome Montanna (and so long, Darcie!)
In November, we welcomed a new staff member to our team! Montanna Mills is our new Community Engagement Coordinator, and will be responsible for recruiting and scheduling volunteers, writing the monthly newsletter, and maintaining member and donor relations. She comes to the museum with an extensive background in museums, including visitor services, curatorial work, and collections management. Welcome Montanna!
This of course means that we are also saying so long to Darcie Dyer, our previous Community Engagement Coordinator. We appreciate everything that Darcie contributed to the museum during her tenure, and we are certain she will go on to do excellent work in her new position. Thank you and all the best, Darcie!
