The end of term is in sight - we hope that the end of term with nativities, glitter, mock exams is a cracker and we wish you and all your staff a very Happy Christmas and we look forward to working with you all in 2019.

Bett 2019
We are looking forward to Bett in January 2019. The team will be there on stand D260 so please come along and say hi and find out more about how we can support you in school. You can sign up to visit Bett here. We are also looking forward to the Bett awards where we have been shortlisted in three categories for this year's Bett awards. We have been shortlisted for Primary content, Secondary content and for Free digital content or open access resources.  You can find out more on our blog.

Digital Excellence Awards 
Our Digital Excellence Awards for 2018-2019 are now open! The aim of the awards is to celebrate best practice and innovative approaches in using LGfL resources and services.  Schools can enter into any of the following categories:

  • Whole school use
  • Inclusive practice using LGfL resources and services
  • Parental Engagement
  • Online Safety
  • Cloud Transformation
  • Use of j2eTools

The closing date for the awards is 1st March 2019, if you have any questions then please email awards@lgfl.net.

Let's Get Digital Blog
The new Let's get Digital Blog series is designed to support schools in their journey to using cloud based tools and applications to energise the curriculum and boost productivity.  Additionally it's the place where you can keep up to date on all the latest features of G-Suite and Office 365, including case studies.

LGfL Cloud Services in Education Conference
Are you interested in finding out about how Google GSuite and Microsoft Office 365 could be used in your school to tackle teacher workload, collaboration, communication and creativity across the curriculum? Do you want to find out more about how LGfL can support schools to adopt cloud platforms? Would you like to know how to develop a strategy to use cloud services in your school? EdTech 50 schools
The Education Foundation has launched Edtech 50 schools, this is a celebration of the work of schools across the UK that are using education technology to support teaching and learning across the whole school, in a particular subject area or to support an education initiative or project. You can find out more and nominate your school here.

Training from LGfL

We have updated our training portal ready for the Spring term. Training is FREE for all LGfL teachers and is held on a Tuesday at Camden CLC, or at one of our partner venues, you can find out more about the courses on offer and how to sign up here. Examples of future courses include: Supporting Maths and English teaching using LGfL resources, Online Safety training, Creative Computing, Using LGfL to support Teaching Assistants as well as  Google and Microsoft training.
You can also book one of the Learning Resource Consultants to come in to your school and deliver INSET sessions, or map your curriculum to LGfL resources, a perfect way to prepare for the  term ahead and ensure you are making the most of the LGfL resources available to you. Curriculum Blog
Our curriculum blog is updated weekly and now has over 100 posts showcasing resources from LGfL to help support you in delivering the curriculum. Our latest posts look at using Christmas media in school. Please let us know what future blog posts you would like or if you would like to write a guest blog post about the work you are doing in schools using LGfL resources. You can also subscribe to the blog so that you never miss a post.

Emirates Celebration 17th January 2019, Emirate stadium, showcasing school projects.
BETT 23-26th January 2019.  Come and meet the LGfL team at BETT on stand D260 and find out more how we can support you in schools.
Discovery Community Celebration - Thursday 24th January 15:00 -18:00 Novotel, London Excel. 
LGfL Mental Health and Wellbeing conference 5th February 2019 at Camden CLC. This will be our first event focussing solely on Mental health and Wellbeing.  Details of how to book will be made available soon.
LGfL DigiSafe conference 11th March 2019 Save the date the second safeguarding conference. The theme for the conference next year is Safeguarding online and beyond, a must for Designated Safeguarding Leads and Online Safety Leads.
