The Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication (CLIC) invites you to a presentation-workshop that will showcase the various impacts that gender norms can have on professional interactions through a detailed analysis of language use in diverse workplaces. Based on the analysis of language use, the emergent, situated differences in conversational styles of men and women will be illustrated along with some practical implications. More information. The Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen invites all students past and present to help celebrate 10 years of the OEDK by creating an engineering art piece! All accepted proposals will be on display and judged at the anniversary party on Friday, February 22, 2019. More information here.

Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship Program
Application Deadline: Dec. 17, 2018
This program provides STEM students with an opportunity to gain and develop research skills with the U.S. Department of Energy for 10 weeks over the summer. Fellows gain hands-on research experience and insight into how the DOE is working to meet the energy challenges of the future under the mentorship of senior program officials and scientists. 6th Annual Symposium on Teaching and Learning

Educators today would be hard pressed to identify a teaching technique more heartily maligned than the lecture.
