Join us on December 6th at 6pm for a talk about the ocean and a cast-on party! We will be knitting an ocean-themed blanket designed by Jenny Woodman.
Jenny Woodman, executive director of Proteus Science Communication, is a writer, educator, and ocean explorer (who knits a bunch). This summer she spent five weeks at sea on board the NOAA Ship Bell M. Shimada and the Exploration Vessel Nautilus, spotting wildlife and exploring underwater volcanoes with robots. Join us for a Casting On Party featuring Jenny's Pacific Ocean blanket partnered with some ocean science and adventure. Her work can be found in Atlantic Monthly, Ensia Magazine, IEEE Earthzine, and Proteus.
After Jenny's talk, we will all cast on her ocean-themed blanket together! Supplies can be purchased at Fiber Rhythm. After we cast on and knit a few rows, we will continue the fun on our Ravelry (and here on this event page for those who don't have Ravelry).
