Final call for proposals
for the 2019 Spring Issue of Japan Harvest
Theme: Returnees
This is your last chance to write a proposal for the Spring issue of Japan Harvest. Our theme is Returnees. We want to hear about what ministries are happening that involve Japanese returnees. Do you know a Christian returnee, can you encourage them to tell their story, or tell it for them (with their permission and help)? What have you learnt in ministering with returnees? How can we reach this segment of the Japanese population better? We're seeking to encourage and spur one-another on, so keep that in mind as you think about if you can contribute.
Topic ideas include:
- RJC conference
- Japanese ministries overseas
- Case studies
- JCFN
- Diaspora ministries
Articles should align with Japan Harvest’s mission statement: to encourage, inspire, and equip JEMA members. Generally articles are one to two pages long (800-1,500 words).
Please send a proposal before you begin writing. Proposals will be received by Wendy Marshall until the 14th of December. The proposal should be a paragraph or two, outlining the main points of the suggested article. You will be advised soon after the 14th whether or not your proposal has been selected. The due date for completed articles is January 10.
Writer's Guidelines are posted on the JEMA website (see here).
Photos needed
We’d love you to submit quality photos for possible publication too. Send an email to japanharvest.photos@gmail.com with your photo/s attached. In the email subject, please include a key word that describes the theme of your photos (for example, “prayer”).
Photos suitable for this issue's theme include:
- photos of returnee events you’ve hosted in your church or attended elsewhere
- photos of returnees you know (with their permission)
Plus we welcome general photos of Japan like:
• daily life in Japan
• Japanese culture
• cityscapes
• scenic photos
If you want to submit a photo of someone who’s face is recognisable, please ask their permission first.
Blessings,
Wendy
