UCLG World Council: Sharing Regional Insights in Global Platform
5 – 8 November 2018, UCLG ASPAC attended the UCLG World Council and the second edition of the World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace, held in Madrid, Spain. The event was a global gathering of local leaders, international organisations, academics, NGOs and civil society networks, who participated in a joint process of debate, reflection and construction of common solutions that foster urban environments capable of eliminating all expressions of violence. It also provided a unique opportunity for UCLG members to share successful efforts in achieving the global agendas and consolidating the message of peace and coexistence at the international level.

SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT
The Second Local Governments Transport Officer Forum (LGTOF II)
21 – 24 November 2018, UCLG ASPAC organised the second Local Governments Transport Officer Forum (LGTOF II) in South Tangerang under the theme: Transport Innovation Development: People Oriented. The event brought together over 80 participants including city representatives, national government officials and international organisations. Dr. Gyeng-Chul Kim, UCLG ASPAC special advisor for transportation, and David John Ingham, World Bank senior urban transport specialist, were amongst the experts who participated in the event.

MISSION TO DPRK
UCLG ASPAC Mission to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
29 November – 1 December 2018, UCLG ASPAC President Mayor Tri Rismaharini of Surabaya and Secretary General Bernadia Irawati Tjandradewi are currently on a mission in DPRK. Their visit aims to foster peace and promote local-to-local dialogue on the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through technical cooperation between cities and local authorities of the DPRK, UCLG and UCLG ASPAC Members.
