 Conservation Tip of the Week
LED Christmas lights use 90% less electricity than regular Christmas lights. Wait until dark to turn on your Christmas lights and turn them off before you go to bed. Six hours or less of daily use is a good goal to aim for. Do you have trouble remembering to turn your lights on and off? Set a timer and forget about it.

Final Exams
Well here we are at the end of another semester! I hope you all had positive experiences and gained some valuable insight this semester! Now get ready to rock the finals!! Change your mindset- instead of feeling stressed, think of it as your time to shine! You've put in the hard work and effort, now you get to do your best! Here are some tips that can help you better prepare for final exams:
  • Don't cram! Studying in 20-50 minute increments and giving yourself 5-10 minutes in between is more beneficial than cramming.
  • Say YES to cardio: Science says that just 30 minutes of cardio three times a week can improve your memory. This also helps with stress!
  • Eat superfoods/antioxidants. Think fruits, veggies, nuts, yogurt.
  • Get a good night's sleep! A 2008 study showed pulling an all-nighter impairs reasoning and memory for as long as four days!
You can also take advantage of many resources available on campus to help alleviate stress, such as the Stress Relief CenterCampus Recreation, and information provided by the Counseling Center. The Ott Planetarium will be showing a special Stress Relief Star Show on December 11th &12th, free for WSU students! Go unwind under the stars!

Bird Watchers Wanted!
It's the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count! The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is a long-standing program of the National Audubon Society, with over 100 years of community science involvement. It is an early-winter bird census, where thousands of volunteers across the U.S., Canada, and many countries in the Western Hemisphere go out over a 24-hour period on one calendar day to count birds.

The Wasatch Audubon Society chapter is conducting its 39th annual Christmas Bird Count on
December 15, 2018. You do not have to be an expert in bird identification to participate. We welcome and encourage all who are interested to join us. If you are interested or have questions please contact Dennis Collins at sarden4@comcast.net.
Wishing you all a safe and joyous holiday!
