To <<First Name>>,
There is a lot of activity in Brighton and Hove around World Aids Day, which is why we have chosen to dedicate this months newsletter to the community events supporting WAD and The Sussex Beacon.
It’s important to remember that it is World Aids Day, however, and that the way in which the effect of HIV has been diminished by medication and other services in our country is not the situation across the World. In some countries anti-retroviral medications are still hard to get hold of. In others there are prevailing cultural issues that divert people away from ARVs toward ineffective “traditional” solutions.
It’s a day to remember that HIV is still hitting people hard, from Moulsecoomb to Mogadishu – Brighton to Banff. It’s a day to think about those who have been taken by the disease and to celebrate the increasing number of people surviving and thriving with HIV.
We thank you for your support this World AIDS Day and every other day, and encourage you to rock a red ribbon this December!
