MVAC 2018 Award Recipients
This year the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center (MVAC) presented two related awards. The James P. Gallagher Award in Archaeology Excellence was presented to the Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company (WVIC) for their involvement in and preservation-oriented approach to cultural resources management. A Special Recognition Award was given to Cathy Wendt of WVIC for overseeing the company’s cultural resources work over the past decade.

Boszhardt Lecture and Award
Over 100 people attended Tuesday’s lecture by Robert “Ernie” Boszhardt, MVAC’s former Contracts Director. A special addition to the evening was Brad Perkl’s presentation of an award from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in recognition of Ernie’s career-long contributions to archaeology.
Remembering Toby Morrow
MVAC staff was saddened to hear of the death of a colleague, Toby Morrow. Toby was widely known for his contributions to regional archaeology.
