Dear Resurrection Family and Friends,

It's the most wonderful time of the year - Church of the Resurrection's annual Cookie Walk is next Sunday, December 16! Walk through our tables of with homemade cookies and treats, fill up your box, then donate on your way out the door. You can bring cash or write a check (simply put "Cookie Walk" on the memo line).  The suggested donation is $7 per dozen, but feel free to give as much or as little as you'd like.

Cookie Walk is a tasty way to support our students who are going on the Nogales service trip this July. We're traveling back to Nogales, Mexico to partner with Brian Donohue and his organization Cuirim House. There, we work as the hands and feet of Christ in a community that desperately needs the hope of the Gospel. By providing tangible improvements to an impoverished community, we have the opportunity to bless the people of Nogales...but we also come away transformed by the week of service.

Cuirim House is one of those “thin places” where the veil between heaven and earth seems to be less distinct. As we look out across the valley from the back porch of Cuirim House, our perspectives get clearer. Priorities that are often muddled and jumbled back home fall into right order, and the experience of living out God’s plan provides a sharpness and relevance to our faith that creates lasting depth and change.

So, will you help our students experience the beauty of this? Will you participate in this year's Cookie Walk? If so, stop by the Fellowship Hall in between services or after the 11am service on Sunday, December 16th to fill up on Christmas deliciousness and make a donation toward our summer service trip.

Grateful for your partnership,
Brad Boucher
Director of Student Ministries

P.S. If you'd like to donate homemade baked goods to our Cookie walk, you can sign up here. Thank you!

Lessons and Carols with the Maryland State Boychoir is TONIGHT!

ResWomen's Christmas Gathering

Mark your calendars! The next women's quarterly gathering will be on Saturday, December 15th from 10:00 – 11:30am for a lovely holiday brunch in the Fellowship hall at church. We invite all of the women at Resurrection to join us for a time of food and fellowship. If you are dropping off your children at pageant rehearsal that morning, this is a GREAT way to spend time with other moms, hear some testimonies, and make a lovely tree ornament while your kids are at rehearsal.

Men's Night Out: Christmas Dinner

The MNO annual Christmas dinner will be held on Friday, December 14 at 6:30pm in the Fellowship hall. Come on out for a night of great food, drink and fellowship – an event where it truly is the more the merrier! RSVP by emailing Terrell Meyer or call 410-935-3410. There is a recommended donation of $20 to help cover expenses, but please do not let that prevent you from attending.

FaithWorks: At Jacob's Well Christmas Open House

At Jacob’s Well is a residential program for homeless people with some mental illness. Toward the end of each month, we provide a meal for them, but we are especially rewarded for being with them. In December we will help host the Christmas Open House on Wednesday, December 19 from 12:00 – 5:00pm at 323 E 25th Street in Baltimore. Please make finger foods or desserts. The residents will drop in as they can – there will also be bags of gifts for them. Come celebrate their Christmas.

We need: Deviled eggs • Finger sandwiches • Cheese and crackers • Vegetables and dip • Macaroni salad • Fruit • Desserts – pies, cakes, cookies, etc. • Drinks

If you have questions or are interested in taking part, email Edie Townsend, call 443-621-3051 or sign up on the ResCommunity board.

Reminder: Sarah's Hope donations due this Sunday, December 9

PLEASE DO NOT WRAP YOUR GIFT(S). Donations can be placed in the appropriate box in the fellowship hall with the matching label. Your generous spirit is a blessing! Have questions: Email the church office.

Cornerstone: Laying a Foundation of Faith

This winter, Student Ministries will be offering a 12-week course called Cornerstone, offering an opportunity to learn more about the key components of our faith. We are pairing Cornerstone with the launch of Alpha, running for our adults, on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm. The first class for students will be Wednesday, January 16.

If you’ve already been confirmed, or even if you’re not sure that you want to be... you are welcome to come and be a part of the Cornerstone experience.  You can drop in for as many classes as you’d like, with no commitment required. However, if you are interested in getting confirmed this year, then this course is required. Attendance of 10 out of the 12 weeks is necessary. Parents, if your son or daughter is participating as part of the confirmation process, there is a parent meeting one week prior on Wednesday, January 9. Have questions? Email Brad Boucher.

Christmas Flower Sponsors and Memorials

We offer an opportunity for everyone to sponsor a poinsettia for a suggested donation of $25. With your donation, you can also memorialize or honor your loved ones, and their name(s) will be printed in the Christmas Eve bulletins. You can also then take home one of the poinsettias after the 10:00pm service on Christmas Eve.

You can sign up for poinsettia(s) or a memorial donation using our online form OR by emailing the church office at office@resbalt.org or calling 410-560-0456.
