The Colts Connection
December 7
Dear Kennedy Families,

Each month Kennedy will have a new character education word displayed in the hallways to start conversations, build positive vocabulary, and challenge our students to become even better people.

Dedication was the focus for November, it  is defined as the willingness to put a lot of time and energy into a task. Though many of our students have shown this attribute, one student will be chosen from each homeroom to be acknowledged with a certificate and small gift of gratitude.

December's word of the month is Grateful - warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received. We challenge all of you to be  grateful as we enter the holiday season.

Sincerely,

Laurie Putnam

Weather Related Emergency School Closing

Celebrating Computer Science Education Week

Many classrooms have been participating in computer coding lessons these past months here at Kennedy. Teachers and students were excited to use these new skills and take part in the world-wide Hour of Code on December 6th.  Thank you to Ms. Nelson and staff for their work with our students!

Our Classrooms

Ms. Hausmann's Grade 3 Class

Students in Ms. Hausmann's class have been busy with hands on learning activities.  They recently completed an archaeology unit designed and led by SCSU Professor, Dr. Deb Gold, and her students.  Students had the opportunity to learn what archaeologists do through engaging, active learning.

Students also partnered with their pre-school buddies from Ms. Eiynck's class to read about snowmen and then build snowmen using dice.  Cross-grade learning activities are just one of the great aspects of a PK-8 school!
