From our Pastors...
During December we often confuse this readiness with a ridiculous and stressful race into Christmas with excessive shopping and excessive eating. The quiet reflection of advent is often lost in the noise and busyness of the lead up to Christmas. Advent is a season of expectant waiting. It’s a time to “Get Ready”. To be prepared.

Advent also taps into a sense we have that all is not well. A longing for the world to be made right again. That’s the theme of so many Christmas songs.
Advent is the longing for someday things will be different. Things will change. Things have to change. It’s a season for restless hearts and people weary of a broken world who want, with all our being, to know there’s more than this. It is a time for hope. A time of restoration. A time to join with God in the renewal of all things.
-Nick & Vicki
In other news...
This Sunday (9th Dec) is our Carol Service 4:00 - 5:30pm.
Please note there will be no morning gathering this Sunday.

There will be a Christmas jumper competition at the nativity service. A prize will be awarded for the most impressive! There is also a kids colouring competition and prizes will be awarded at the nativity service. Kids just need to draw something on an A4 piece of paper that makes them think of Christmas. Their name and age need to be written on the back and they need to be returned to Zia by Sunday the 10th of December.
We run a mini food bank out of Mill Street for CAP clients.
Our stocks are severely depleted and we need your help!

Would you consider putting together a food parcel? We have some brown 'Instant Bags' (available from a red box at Sidney Stringer) which you can take away and fill.

Just return them by:
- Dropping them in the big green bin in the garage at Mill Street, or
- Bringing them to Sidney Stringer on a Sunday and pop it back in the red box.

Here's a list of helpful items you can pop in the bag:
  • Breakfast cereals
  • Soup
  • Pasta/Rice/Noodles
  • Pasta sauce
  • Tinned meat/fish/veg/fruit (not fresh)
  • Cereal Bars
  • Cup-a (Soup)
  • Tea / coffee
  • Toiletries
  • Feminine hygiene products
Whether you can provide the whole lot or just a few items, your help is greatly appreciated and will make a big difference to those in need.

In Life Group you will find others to support you in your journey.   Sign up [here].
We are committed to encouraging people to be disciples who make disciples, equipping them to live lives as followers of Jesus and helping them express the love of God to those around them.

Our Journey Groups are one-to-one groups designed for those who have made the decision to go deeper in their spiritual growth, forming habits that help them to become more like Jesus and sharing Him with others. Click here for details and to sign up

Witness the birth of GrowBaby!
As a way of showing God’s extravagant love in a practical way, we will be launching GrowBaby at Mill Street in the New Year. This will be made available to anyone in need. Other churches have found this really engages people and has led to many other community initiatives. For details click [HERE].

How can you help?
- Pray - That we meet with those in our community that need our help.
- Donate - Do you have baby/children’s items (in good condition) you no longer need? Have you seen any useful items in your local charity shop? If so, please bring them to Mill street or give them to Zia at Stringer Stringer on a Sunday morning. Please also spread the word to others who have things to donate.
- Give - You can also give financially to this initiative. Please mark any monetary donations as being specifically for GrowBaby.
- Volunteer - Get involved with sorting clothes or giving them out and building community with families – either chat to Zia or email her for more information.
- Publicise - Please talk to your neighbours and friends about this, and spread the word to anyone you think would benefit from this. We will soon have leaflets and posters available to give/display.

Thanks in advance!
