Recently, we conneKTed with Dr. Shannon Scott, and this week are delighted to bring you, Dr. Lisa Hartling. Dr. Hartling is a professor in Pediatrics at the University of Alberta and a world-leading scientist in knowledge synthesis and knowledge translation. Lifelong Learning: Evidence Meets Implementation Lecture and Workshop Series 

This new lecture and workshop series, offered by the Office of Lifelong Learning (L3), in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, will help those interested in implementing evidence to:

-  Engage with stakeholders and users.
-  Explore implementation frameworks and their utilities.
-  Use qualitative approaches to build solid foundations.
-  Use human-centered design to create tools & promote uptake.
-  Explore advances in shared decision-making.

- Tuesday, January 29, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm: Grounding implementation in theoretical approaches: models, frameworks, and theories
- Tuesday, February 26, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm: Designing practice tools.

Adapting policy-support mechanisms to help achieve the non-health SDGs
 While evidence-informed policymaking approaches have helped drive progress in many health systems around the world, a new partnership among the McMaster Health Forum, its partners in 13 countries, the Hewlett Foundation, and Canada’s International Development Research Centre, is now setting its sights on social systems and the non-health Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Partners for Evidence-driven Rapid Learning in Social Systems (PERLSS) network will launch 1 December.

McMaster Health Forum is expanding the scope of Social Systems Evidence
With a growing international focus on evidence-informed policymaking to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the McMaster Health Forum is excited to announce that they’ll soon be expanding the scope of Social Systems Evidence (SSE) to cover all of the SDGs. This expansion of SSE is made possible by an exciting partnership with the Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI).
