Join us at an information picket in support of workers at Valley View Villa in Stellarton Saturday, December 16th from 11 am - 2 pm!
Sisters and Brothers:
As you are aware, there are many challenges with our long-term care home, Valley View Villa in Stellarton due to a $1.5 million deficit. The Local has been working hard with our National Representative in trying to mitigate much of the negative impact this is presently having on our CUPE Local 2330 members and will have in the future. The Local has met on many occasions with the employer representatives and we have identified many concerns with the employer’s process.
We feel at this time the local has no other option but to take this fight public. We want to make the families and community members are aware of what is happening at Valley View Villa. As I am sure you are aware, Premier McNeil and his Liberal Government have made cuts to long-term care that continue to have a huge impact on residents and staff. CUPE Local 2330 wants to get our message out that we will be defending our residents and those who work to provide for them and meet their needs.
We hope you can attend our information picket on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Valley View Villa, 6125 Trafalgar Road, Stellarton, N.S.
In solidarity,
Rose Best, Acting President CUPE Local 2330
In solidarity, DANNY CAVANAGH
President
