School Programs
“Thank you for a truly fantastic field trip! This trip was so very rich in experiences and eye-opening for my eager students. They clearly have a deeper appreciation of historical changes - and it was all so local! We are still talking about it.” -Grade 4/5 Teacher, Vancouver
“All the teachers, students and parents were so impressed with the docents and their tours. As for the box of artifacts, we loved that too. The kids enjoyed guessing what the artifact was and we used them for writing stories. It was the best field trip ever!” – Grade 4/5 Teacher, Vancouver
In 2017, our award-winning school program hosted 878 students from 11 schools. Our team of 9 School Program docents guide our young guests through the Museum, providing valuable experiential education that focus on what life was like in the early years of Vancouver. This program allows students to learn about history in a unique setting where asking questions and touching artefacts are encouraged.
This Program is funded collaboratively with the McGrane Pearson Foundation and Roedde House Museum Preservation Society.
