What can you be grateful for today? How about the healing power of gratitude?

Studies have shown that gratitude boosts the immune system, which is is vitally important to reversing cancer. Gratitude creates a sense of well being in body and mind.

When facing a serious life challenge like cancer, it's easy to get into focusing on what's wrong, missing, what we can't or don't have and wish we could have. We feel angry, resentful, depressed--a mindset not conducive to healing!

The remedy is to practice gratitude. In challenging circumstances, it may seem difficult. Yet there are always things to be grateful for, even if little things. If you take a moment to appreciate what you can do, that you can walk, see, or hear birds singing, it takes your mind off your dissatisfaction and disappointment and on to something that brings you joy.

A good practice is to think of three things you're grateful for when you wake up in the morning and just before you go to sleep. These can be simple things like your cozy bed, the cat curled up with you, a dear friend, and pretty soon, the more you do it, the list expands to well beyond three things! It makes for a great start for the day, and a more peaceful, healing sleep.

You will find it easy once you get started, and easier the more you practice. So get gratitude into your attitude getting those immune cells moving, and you will see how much better you feel!

Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
