Hello again!

We've been quiet for a while, and now we're back.

Here's a newsletter reminding you of significant dates for your diary (8th December, 2nd February), and letting you know what we've been up to during the autumn.

PLEASE COME TO
OUR FINAL
CONSULTATION EVENT

We would LOVE your input into the S-CEP final plans before we launch.  We are meeting from 10:30 - 12:30 on 8th December at Learn Sheffield, Training and Development Hub, Lees Hall Road, Sheffield, S8 9JP.  Please email Sophie if you will be attending.

Whether this is the first time you've heard about the S-CEP, only come along to one meeting before, or have come along to lots of the task & finish groups, this meeting is for you.  It will be a chance to tell us if the final membership proposals work for you and your organisation, as well as having a chance to input into the ideas and plans for our 2018/19 theme: Celebrating Sheffield, and help us decide on the themes for 2020-2022.  The results of this planning workshop will feed into the launch conference on 2nd February 2018 at the Crucible.

(If this really is the first time you've heard about the S-CEP, you'll find some background information on the Learn Sheffield website.)

YOUTH CONSULTATION EVENTS
One of the things we were keen to do this autumn was to talk to some young people about the S-CEP at this consultation stage.  So, that's exactly what we've been up to:
SEPTEMBER: SCHOOLS EVENT at THEATRE DELI

The magnificent folk at Theatre Deli opened the doors of their new building especially for the S-CEP and for a day of youth consultation with 11 - 17 year olds from four Sheffield secondary schools.  IVE supported the day too, providing facilitators and lunch.  Huge thanks to both of them.

It was a great day; both informative and inspiring - the young people were so clear about the things they love about their city, and also full of ideas about all the things that we could work at.  We were hugely impressed by the young people's ideas and quality of thinking, and are developing plans to ensure that consultation with young people is embedded in the long-term future of the S-CEP.  We are acting on the ideas they came up with, and hoping to keep in touch with the young people as the S-CEP develops.

NOVEMBER: SHEFFIELD'S YOUTH CABINET
Many moons ago, the S-CEP consultation process started with a session with the young people from Sheffield's Youth Cabinet.  They were thoughtful, interesting and provocative, and we were delighted when they invited us back to tell them how we're getting on, and to share our plans with them.  So, we're heading back to see them next week, and are very much looking forward to it.

We're also delighted to have made a connection with the Children and Young People's Partnership Board, which feels like it could be a great way to begin connecting with families, children and young people and the people who work with them.
What else?
One more task & finish group...
It struck us over the summer that although we'd done hours and hours of consulting with lots and lots of people, we still didn't have a Steering Group who could make decisions about what was actually going to happen in the S-CEP, and approve all the legal stuff.  So, we've been working on that too, and now have a new task & finish group set up which is choc full of people who are helping us think through the fine details of the Partnership, so that when we launch on 2nd February, everything is set up, and ready - all we need is members, and to press the GO button!

Come to the conference...
We really hope you'll all show your support by coming to the conference on 2nd February 2018 at the Crucible Theatre.  Please save the date in your diaries and email Sophie for more information.
