9:00 Service Terry Ambler
11:00 Service Stacie Ruff
Hanging of the Greens: This Sunday, November 26, following the second service, we will be decorating the church campus with our festive decorations and we need your help!!! Bring the whole family to help us adorn our Sanctuary. Pizza will be provided for all those who stay to help. Write it on your calendar...you don't want to miss the fun!
Refuge Request: The Refuge is in dire need of donations of food items. The holiday season is upon us and the number of people needing assistance is growing. Please consider picking up some extra items while making your grocery trip and help us stock the shelves at The Refuge for those less fortunate. Thank you in advance for your help!!
Operation Christmas-Vietnam: In lieu of Operation Christmas Child, Family Ministries will be collecting the following items to pack and ship to our missionaries Tu and Vi in Vietnam. Please place donations in the box outside the Family Ministry office. Then join us on Sunday, December 3 from 2-5 P.M. as we pack supplies and go Christmas caroling to our shut-ins. Then we will return for snacks and hot cocoa. Items to donate include: yellow #2 pencils, pink erasers, composition books, crayons, pencil sharpeners, wash cloths, tooth paste, tooth brushes, travel soap (not liquid), combs/brushes. We CAN NOT send anything with characters printed on it. Thanks in advance for your help in sending much needed supplies to this part of the world!
Installation of Pastor Siang Hup: CGC will be hosting the installation of Siang Hup on December 3, who is being installed as a pastor for the CRC. The service will begin at 5:00 in the Sanctuary with a pig roast to follow. We will have visitors from Pathway CRC and the Crosspoint Network. Pastor Siang lives in Bargersville, IN, with his wife Thawng. This is open to anyone who would like to attend.
Angel Tree: On November 26, a Christmas tree will be in the lobby loaded with gift tags for children of imprisoned parent(s). Tags will be available until
Dec. 9. Please be watching for more information in the next update for details. A breakfast will be hosted here at CGC for those children and their caregivers on December 16 from 9-11.
Sunday School During Advent: During the Advent season we will be doing a special project/study with all adult classes and youth middle thru high school. On December 3 and 10 we will be making Jesse Tree ornaments. Please plan on attending these sessions during Advent. Both days will be held in Fellowship Hall.
On December 17, there will be NO adult or youth Sunday school as we will be supporting the children in their Christmas Pageant. This will be held in the Sanctuary during the regular Sunday school hour.

Advent Devotionals: Adult devotionals will be available on November 26. Please pick up one per family. The studies are built around the Jesse Tree. Jess Trees are a very old Christmas tradition first started in medieval times based on
Isaiah 11:1-2. They are used to help tell the story of the Bible from creation to the Christmas Story. The name comes from Jesse who was the father of the great Jewish King David. These devotionals were written by members of the First Reformed Church in Lynden, WA for the December 1998 issue of the
Church Herald, Reformed Church of America.
1-2-3 Serve: "No one is useless in this world that lightens the burdens of another", Charles Dickens. This month's 1-2-3 serve project is about lightening someone else's burdens. Find a neighbor, elderly person, family member or friend and offer to rake leaves in their yard or help with another project around their home. Afterwards, leave them a note of encouragement that will be provided and found on the table next to the Family Ministries kiosk. Remember to take a picture and post on our Facebook page with the tag #CGCburdenbearers.
Emotionally Healthy Spirituality: At CGC, the second part of our mission statement is "...Where Friends Become Disciples..." Are you ready to move from friend to disciple, while growing immensely in your walk with Christ? If so, please plan to join us for our next EHS discipleship course, beginning January 8. This 8-week course will be led by Andrea Culver on either Monday or Tuesday night, whichever works better for potential attendees. Cost for materials is $25 per person. Please contact Heather Hayden at
heather@dhayden.com or 317-797-0738 to sign up or to ask questions.
