From fake news and content policy, to the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) and the growth of cryptocurrencies, new issues are constantly emerging that challenge existing thought and practice vis-à-vis digital publishing and platform responsibility. Indeed, as the digital policy landscape continues to change and evolve, so will the media development community’s strategies need to adapt in order to continue to promote the creation, dissemination, and uptake of professional, high-quality information.

 

The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is requesting contributions to a new report focused "on the effectiveness of international and regional mechanisms for the protection, investigation and prosecution of attacks against journalists”. This report is a request by the ground-breaking Human Rights Council (HRC) resolution 33/2 on the safety of journalists and the issue of impunity.
