Shalom, from Messiah Echad!

Most of us know if we love Messiah (Christ), we will keep His Commandments (John 14:15), and although many will say “Lord Lord”, workers of lawlessness will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Mathew 7:21). But does going forth and observing secular holidays show a love for God, or a desire for worldliness and lawlessness? We talked about that in Lech Lecha and Halloween. What about identifying politically as a Liberal, or Conservative… which one is biblical? That question was answered in Looking Forward and Politics. During Thanksgiving and Chanukah, make sure to love Messiah.

One way to love Him is by visiting a likeminded congregation while travelling, or joining Messiah Echad for monthly oneg, with a biblically kosher dish to share (25 Nov., 30 Dec.). Amidst black Friday, cyber Monday, and holiday shopping, love His Ministries on Giving Tuesday, 28 November, in balanced proportion to how much you love, or spend in, this world. Lastly, consider non-traditional ways you can love Messiah, such as naming ministries as partial or contingent beneficiaries to life insurance policies, or donating appreciated securities, real estate, and business interests.

Thanksgiving, Chanukah, and Our 4th Year Anniversary are joyous times; just don't forget the reason for the season
