NOVEMBER 2017

Dear <<First Name>>,

Throughout my years as a Christian and in ministry, I've often seen opposition in churches that are faithful to God’s word. Much of the opposition in our church in Geneva is not currently from the outside, but from within. It is usually the wolves in sheep’s clothing who attempt to confuse the sheep to follow them into their den of false doctrine. We are thankful for our missionary partners John and Meg Glass and the faithful believers who love Jesus and His word here in Europe. Please pray that the genuine believers will not be led astray but strengthened through these trials.
October and November have been very busy months. October 31st was the 500th anniversary of the start of the Reformation. I was able to lead my first Reformation tour in Geneva to 37 people from Singapore. Sharing the history of the preservation of God’s word in order to maintain and proclaim its purity in the midst of persecution was very encouraging. It also provided a great opportunity to weave the gospel and the authority of Christ and His word into my presentation in order to share with those who were listening.
One of my long-term goals is to see a training center established for pastors in the French-speaking world. In October, I was able to go to the TMAI (The Master’s Academy International) conference in Berlin, Germany. At the conference there were friends who I've known since our time at The Master Seminary, who are now teaching and pastoring around the world. I learned much and was blessed by the fellowship. During our travels in Berlin, six of us TMS seminary graduates were sitting together on the metro train. A man suddenly sat right in front of me and asked me in English if he could share his faith. He was a Jehovah Witness. My Italian brother in Christ and I shared the true faith for the entire train ride. Another English speaking couple heard us talking and started a conversation with our entire group after we got off the train. Please pray for those seeds to be firmly planted in their hearts.
During Elijah's school break we took a trip to Cannes, France to stay with Manuel Brambila and his family. I am currently mentoring him as he studies via correspondence and module courses at the international EBTC (European Bible Training Center) M.Div. English program in Berlin. Our families had a wonderful time of fellowship, along with discussing class assignments, ministry and daily life, and praying together. I am so grateful for the opportunity to pass on the many things that I have learned from the Lord to men like Manuel.
Please continue to pray as Julia and I host a home Bible study. Julia prepares incredible meals and takes care of the kids while I teach. Teaching, discipling, and translating Bible curriculum for the studies have been very helpful for improving my French. Please pray for us as we know that it is only the LORD who carries us through the tasks, trials and blessings of each day.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support, love and encouragement. We love and miss each of you.
Love in Christ,
James, Julia, Elijah, William & Wesley

Mens breakfast and study
Elijah has been in a French school and fully immersed in French for almost 3 months. He is understanding the language more and more each day, and beginning to speak more in French as well. We are thankful for his sweet and gentle teacher, who has helped to make his adjustment a smooth one. Continue to pray for Elijah that he will grow in his faith through these experiences. Pray also for us as we have new opportunities to build relationships and share Christ with his classmates families and teachers.
