Praying With People . . .
"There are many, who, because of prejudice, will never know the truth unless it is brought to their homes. The canvasser may find these souls and minister to them. There is a line of work in house-to-house labour which he can accomplish more successfully than others. He can become acquainted with the people and understand their true necessities; he can pray with them and can point them to the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. Jenny Opened the Door with a Delightful Smile
|
|
Jenny opened the door with a delightful smile. Her invitation to enter came naturally. Her twins were absolutely gorgeous and warmed to our books – touching them and curiously eyeing the pictures. Jenny enjoyed the Abundant Living Series and began to show particular interest in the attractive Family Bible.
Like many Christians, her shelves were lined with various Bibles, but this one was different. She appreciated the introductory pages that allowed the entry of family history and the appealing presentation. Jenny left no doubt that she loved God. After purchasing the Bible, I also presented to her a gift; the choice between the Desire of Ages and the Great Controversy, accompanying it with a brief explanation of the contents. What did she choose? The Great Controversy. Was it the curiosity about end time events? I don’t know. She took is as though it were a most precious gift – even before having read it.
We prayed together with Joe and her family that God may abundantly bless them and that Jesus may soon return.

"You Came At Just The Right Time"!

Mary attends a Pentecostal church that I used to go to several years ago. We had an interesting discussion and she allowed me to pray with her, which was great as she seemed quite a private person. She bought the books, Desire of Ages and Ministry of Healing. She also wanted the cookbook, but asked me to go back the next day as she wanted to check with her husband first.
When I went back the next morning, she wasn’t home, but her husband was just driving out the driveway. He paid for it on EFTPOS for her, and said to me, “This is Christian based, isn’t it? I researched it last night”. I said, “Yes, it is”, he then asked, “Did my wife tell you yesterday that this has come at just the right time for her? Because she’s not well, we’ve just found out that she’s really not very well.” He then thanked me very, very much.
Please pray that they will both read the books and seek His truth.
