Education. It's something that we in the US & Canada often take for granted. I know in the US, while the "free" public school systems aren't actually free and can get quite expensive, parents can't just choose not to send their kids. A truancy officer will hunt you down and take you to jail if you miss school.
Whether they like it or not, a child will be "educated" in a classroom! This is not the case here in Mexico and in many other countries around the world. The sad thing is that the way to end the cycle of poverty in these areas is just that, Education!
Students here in Mexico are required to have uniforms monogrammed with their school's logos on them, which parents have to acquire themselves. These uniforms cost around $50. Now, that doesn't sound like a lot but when you make on average $50-$75 a week and gas prices are still at $3/gallon and you have 5 school-aged children to cloth, it's not a lot, it's everything! This family will starve for 2 months simply getting their children's uniforms.
Well, we want to help. I feel God has called me to the next step of my ministry here with YWAM and that is starting a missional-minded, affordable, education that has NO roadblocks for families. We are currently in the planning stages and have begun rolling out the first phase officially this past September. This beginning part is a sort of homeschool co-op with our missionary families and as we work out all the kinks and figure out the best curriculum to use we will be welcoming local families to join us.

Now, in order to make this affordable, we need people like you! People who believe in education, who've seen the benefits of it first hand. People who want to see a change. Below I've listed a few ways that you can help us in this seemingly impossible mission but I know that with God all things are possible, especially if He has ordained it!
