Christmas in the City of Kalamunda
Activities for this year’s Christmas Festival period are commencing on December 4, with story time reading at 11am at High Wycombe Library. Mayor John Giardina said, “We have a wonderful calendar of Christmas events at this time of the year and invite all residents to enjoy the festive calendar offered.”
A Christmas Movie Night is planned in Forrestfield on December 8 from 6pm showing Polar Express. The City of Kalamunda’s annual Carols by Candellight in the Park commence at 7pm til 10.30pm on December 10, at Stirk Park. And why not finish last minute Christmas Shopping at the Kalamunda Christmas Night Markets on December 15.
The night markets are held on Haynes Street, Kalamunda and commence at 6pm. You can even have your photo taken with Santa and his elves in a magical setting. One Enchanted Christmas Evening is held at the Kalamunda Library on December 18, at 6pm. And at Scott Reserve High Wycombe, the Christmas Picnic is on between 5.30pm and 8pm.
Residents decorating their properties can also register their Christmas lights

Kalamunda to go Dgitial
The City is developing its first Smart City Digital Strategy and wants to hear from you.
‘Smart City’ simply means an area (such as a city) that uses different types of digital technologies to manage its assets and resources efficiently. Often these technologies will be integrated and will also involve streamlined data collection systems. Cities globally and locally are adopting the Smart City concept.
In conjunction with Symphony3, the City will be holding a series of workshops to help us to understand:
- what defines a Smart City;
- envision what our City will look like in 30 years; and
- how digital technology will shape the way we work, play and live.
Three workshops targeting the general community, business and youth sectors will be held in December. We encourage everyone to come along to the workshops, learn about Smart Cities and have a say.
