We are excited to announce 8th Grade Shadow Day this Wednesday, December 6th! This is a great opportunity for 8th grade students to experience high school. 8th graders will accompany the freshmen to their morning classes and end their visit with a pizza lunch provided for them (8am - 12:26pm).  In addition to receiving a quick look at some of the classes awaiting them in the coming year, students will be introduced to special programs and enrichment activities.

Shadow Day is open to current CSLA 8th graders and non-CSLA student visitors as well.  At 9:38 parents are invited to attend a chapel/assembly, where you and the students will hear from teachers & students about specific classes (e.g., Missions, Spanish), and hear personal accounts of activities (e.g., Student Council, Theatre, Sports, etc.). Following the assembly, parents are invited to stay for a Question & Answer session with Mr. Clay Swanson, Principal.

We anticipate that our own 8th grade students, and any 8th grade visitors, will have fun with the high school students while becoming more familiar with the CSLA High School environment.

We hope you will be able to join us as well. For more information, please call our main office at 503.538.0114.
LIBRARY HELP NEEDED!
This week, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, December 5, 6 & 7, between 9:00am & 1:00pm, the librarians need assistance with books that are being withdrawn.  Each book needs to be stamped and have the barcode recorded before the books are removed from the library.  All help is welcome!

PROPER SHOES REQUIRED!  OUTDOOR ATTIRE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!
What glee!  It's winter, and we have PE!
Is your student wearing safe and comfortable PE attire for these colder months and joyous activities?  Here is a checklist:
     > YES!  Wear Athletic Shoes with closed toes
    >
YES!  It's okay to send a pair of shoes for your student to change into for PE!
     > YES!  Have your student bring *warm jacket, *hat, *mittens/gloves
When it isn't raining, I will try to have students outside in the fresh air.
     > NO!  Open-toed shoes, boots, clogs, flip flops, etc.  If your student wears such footwear for PE, he/she will not be allowed to participate.  Again, this is for safety reasons.
     Thank you!
