We are asking for immediate prayer request.
Yesterday morning Michelle and I went to the 38th IB detachment asking for permission to enter Olionaan where we would stop and hike into a remote area to survey if we could place bible workers there and do a vacation bible school effort there as well
The officers told us that the area in question was under the 8th IB as it is the main control headquarters.The area is in the providence of Bukidnon. They told us we would need to go there for permission but it was doubtful they would allow us if we ask them for permission.
The 58th is in charge of the providence of Misamis Oriental only and they said the mountains are closed to missionaries in their jurisdiction and any other travelers for the whole month of December at least because of ongoing military operations because of the presidents new orders.
This is the providence we live in and today we saw marked increase in military presence as road block checkpoints went up and 6x6 trucks with soldiers were on the roads in our area
We have a team on the road as you read this going to the area for permission. They left at 3am
We as a team decided to bypass control at the 8th IV at least for now knowing they probably won't give permission. We will go directly to the area where we will try to get the local village chairman to allow us in for the week of Dec 17-23 for the VBS and if they say yes then we will move forward to the Battalion and mayor for the needed permits. It's backward from the military's request but it's our only hope of getting into the area under the circumstances.
Because we are asking for the Fathers will, we are including you as well as pray partners so as to not move ahead of HIS plan in this.
The team will be gone for a couple days or so to accomplish this. Michelle and I were the ones planned to take care of this but my wife has been sick with fever and body pains for 5 days already. I know she is stressed out at the moment and recovering from a long wet ride we had to take last week
