"Hold the Rope"

for the Ellingsons in Madagascar

If you have read the missionary biography of William Carey, you’ll no doubt remember the account of what happened at the formation of his new missionary society in 1792. One man in attendance recounted the matter this way:
Our undertaking to India really appeared at its beginning to me somewhat like a few men, who were deliberating about the importance of penetrating a deep mine which had never before been explored. We had no one to guide us, and, while we were thus deliberating, Carey, as it were, said,‘Well, I will go down, but you must hold the rope.’ But, before he descended, he, as it seemed to me, took an oath from each of us at the mouth of the pit, to this effect that whilst we lived, we should never let go the rope.”
William Carey would go to the unknowns of the mission field. But he needed those back home to "hold the rope" and support him while he was in the depths.

Whether you're obeying Christ's Great Commission by going or sending, your hands will bear the scars of sacrifice for the cause of Christ.

We need you to "hold the rope" for us in this ministry to Madagascar.
This means we need your prayers and your financial support.

PRAYER
Will you commit to praying for us and for Madagascar at least once each week? Every regular newsletter we send includes praises and prayer requests. Our ministry is a spiritual endeavor and without Christ we can do nothing. Please commit to bring us to the Throne of Grace. Knowing that you pray for us bolsters us for the task ahead.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Will you commit to give sacrificially, as the Lord provides? We trust that God may have already placed an earnestness on your heart to be a part of the Lord's work in Madagascar. We praise God for this and we look forward to working together for Christ and His church in Madagascar.

See below for details on how you can partner with us financially.

Vision for Madagascar

  • To see the people of Madagascar worshipping our Savior in spirit and in truth.
  • To see churches in Madagascar being led by men of character and skill in the Word of God.
  • To see Malagasy men called into the ministry and being trained by a biblical seminary to be faithful expositors of the Word.
  • To see indigenous pastors becoming seminary professors and theologians who guard the truth they have learned and pass it on to the next generation.

This is our vision for Madagascar

If you share this same vision for the Malagasy people, then let's pray and sacrifice for this common goal together.
