Greetings.
I've been away, now I'm back. I've been on a long underworld journey; I think I survived. Indications are leaning that way, at least. I can say that much.

I pull the door open and walk into darkness. Remembering where the switches are, I turn on the overhead lights; they flicker on. I flip the huge knife switches on the wall and the hulking, ancient laboratory machines slowly hum into life, smelling of burnt dust and old lube. They rumble and whine as they come up to speed; the floor vibrates, everything vibrates. The assistants, mostly otherworldly, express delight. Of course they do. We are going back to work, they think. We are going to shine in use, again. Yes! they say to themselves, fastening their work coats and grabbing their tools from the wall. A flash of lightning, the smell of ozone and thyme, and The Douglass Truth Institute is back on-line.

I don't have a ton of space at the above location, so I will have to schedule visits so we don't get overwhelmed. This is the first such sale here in Nevada City in quite a few years. Come on by - email, text or Facebook me and we can set up a time. If you've been to one you know prices can get crazy. I know that's a little bit salesman-y but it's just the truth. I'm not available Dec. 1-2-3 but almost any time til Dec 18 should be good. Let me know! I might even have wine.

I'm doing commissions again. I don't think I've done them since I moved back to California. But someone asked me to do a portrait, out of the blue, a few months ago, it went well, and I'm thrilled to be doing them again. Send me an email with your ideas.

NEW PAINTINGS.
And some old ones. If there's no active link, it just means that I haven't had a chance to link it yet. Just send me an email and we'll go there. I've got a very small studio now, so I'm doing smaller works on paper. It's like working with miniatures.

I'm doing little paintings on greeting cards. A bit of black gesso, a bit of paint. I carved some stamps for the back (the card shown above is unfolded). They're signed and numbered and I've got a few of them left. They come with a translucent envelope, even.

We — I and Dorothy, that is — returned recently from a short tour of An Intimate Evening with Death, Herself. Two shows at the Grace St. Paul Episcopal Church in Tucson. Surely the grandest and most gorgeous venue we've ever done. We'll be returning to the Nugget Fringe Festival in January with 4 of the original Intimate Evenings, and, with a short intermission, a second, NEW show, titled ASK DEATH. Both shows, together, will be about 3 hours long. I guarantee that if you can get thru a 3 hour show, so can I. Separate tickets will be needed for each show. Shows are JANUARY 19•21•25•27 2018.
