Why, hello there. Kurt Brindley here. I hope this update is finding you well and in good spirits.

If you've been following along with my blog at all, you may have noticed that I've taken some time off since Spring to focus on writing a new book. Yes, it's coming along nicely, thank you. But I've missed the old blog and this here old newsletter full of love so I'm gradually getting back into the swing of things.

  • To get this old newsletter full of love kicked back off in style, literary or otherwise, I'd like to propose a Flash Fiction Writing Challenge to you. If you dare, send me a 500-words or less, story about any subject or genre of you're choosing, except erotica, and I'll share my favorites here with the newsletter group and I'll share my most favorite both here and on the blog. Let's keep the challenge open until Friday, December 22, 2017, which will give me enough time to get the stories out to the group and up on the blog before the end of the year. Cool? Ice cold.

  • I've threatened in the past that I was going to publish all my short stories as a collection. Unfortunately, that has yet to happen and it looks like it won't anytime soon so I've decided to resume publishing both my old and new stories on my website. The latest story published there is called Transformation of a G. It's inspired and informed by two of my favorites - Franz Kafka and Tupac Shakur - and was written in response to the challenges and strife in the United States between our police forces and the African American communities nationwide. If interested, you can check it out here.

  • It's Cyber Monday, which means the sales abound. But do you know what's better than a sale? You guessed it - A GIVEAWAY! That's right, I'm giving away all of my books for free until the end of the day. I hope you take the opportunity to give them a look. And if you do, I would surely appreciate your feedback in the form of a review. You can download all my books from here

Okay, that's all for now except to say I'm looking forward to reading your flash fiction. You can send it to me by replying to this email or by submitting it through my contact page. If you send it by email, please do not send it as an attachment. Just type it or copy and paste it right into the email itself. And if flash fiction isn't your thing, we'll be having poetry, photography, and other types of challenges in the future so please stay tuned.

Happy Holidays &
Write on, my friends!
