New data: Parents report their children are ready for kindergarten

Back in August, during the 2017 Learner Graduation celebration, we asked some of our role models and parents where they find the most value in 10 Books A Home (10BH) and its early education program. Watch them talk about how 10BH is preparing children for kindergarten.

ILM Program Turns 5!

A 10 Books A Home staff member recounts her meeting with Kevin, who was among the first batch of graduates of 10BH’s home tutoring program. Five years since, how is Kevin doing? How are we still connected to him? Read the full story here.

   Donor Spotlight: Peery Foundation

10 Books A Home has found a great partner and donor in Peery Foundation. We deeply value the direct funding support and strategic advice we have received from the foundation. 10BH is a grantee under Peery Foundation’s local giving portfolio which aims to strengthen the foundation’s contribution to closing the opportunity gap for youth in East Palo Alto.

                  Sereno 1% for Good

We are thrilled that the real estate company, Sereno, has selected 10 Books A Home as the 2017 recipient of its 1% for Good program, its annual social responsibility initiative. Per the program design, Sereno’s real estate agents in the Palo Alto office will be contributing 1% of their gross commissions from the last quarter to support 10BH’s work. Along with the funding support, the company will be running adverts on the impact of our work in the community.

Peery Foundation is excited to partner with 10 Books A Home. The organization is addressing a really critical need and doing what no one else is doing in the community. The program offers access to quality early education and engagement for the whole family. It is making a profound impact on 3- to 5-year-olds, their siblings, and parents. It could be surprising to some that an organization can deliver its program through volunteers just as effectively as it would through paid professional tutors.”
