Thank You Fall Volunteers

Our trailmaster, Jim Langdon, & his teams of volunteers achieved a lot this fall. Contributing 650 working hours over 37 days, the teams finished seasonal trail maintenance on Badger and Candy, built a new loop trail, built and installed a kiosk, plus helped with the installation of the donor and ch2m monuments.

Mickie Chamness, from the Columbia Basin Native Plant Society, led volunteers on projects to repair the burned land on Candy Mountain by planting sagebrush and seeding the land with grasses. She also coordinated with REI and FOBM for a day of planting grasses to help secure the parking lot hillside.

Gretchen Graber, also of the Native Plant Society, organized a project where students from Pasco's Robert Frost Elementary planted sage seedlings they had cultivated since the spring and learned about the Candy Mountain's shrub-steppe environment.

We want to thank everyone who volunteered their time to maintain, improve, and educate about the environment and trailsystem on Badger and Candy.
