The past couple of months have been pleasantly overwhelming for us. As we continue to grow our numbers in our weekly participation for private lessons and clinics, we are also planning other activities that are going to require additional help to make our efforts successful. To give you an idea of the things we have in the works:
- We are planning a silent auction fundraising event for the spring. We have already contacted and begun receiving items from several professional and collegiate teams. The Charlotte Hornets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Hurricanes, NCSU Wolfpack Mens Basketball and Roanoke College Mens Basketball Team have all provided items for our event. We could use more, and would love your assistance with any contacts you may have. We are not only looking for sports items, but from many different businesses and individuals that would like to contribute.
- In conjunction with the silent auction, we are also planning to host a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for boys and girls. We are beginning to seek out sponsors and could use you help in acquiring those with us.
- Coach T was invited to Charlotte last week to meet with the Directors of NC AAU. They are adding a new level of tournament basketball to their operation, Division 3, and asked JLT Fieldhouse to become a member to help with the development of younger players and to host events. This will be a great addition to our already growing resume' of affiliations and collaborations! We have agreed in principle to accept their offer and are working out the details. Again, your volunteer efforts would be greatly appreciated as we move forward with this opportunity.
So, as you can see, there is plenty on the horizon for us and we want to continue to build on the success that we have generated thus far. Any and all assistance is appreciated, no matter how big or small. Please contact Coach T directly if you would like to help.
