Your help is urgently needed.

CDI’s Family Violence Services provide immediate, free-of-charge, accessible mental health services for mothers and children who have experienced violence, abuse and trauma, many living in shelters in Toronto.

While the end of the year can be filled with celebration and joy for many of us, our families are coping with extraordinary challenges that can be even more difficult during the holiday season.

While mothers worry about safety and the impact of violence on their children, their children often struggle with emotional or social issues as they adjust to life in the shelter, new schools and making new friends.

You can help.

On this day of giving, you can help mothers and children stay safe, cope with their immediate challenges and build their new lives together for the future.

Child Development Institute (CDI) is a multi-service children’s mental health organization providing a range of services to children and youth aged 18 and younger, and their families. Our Family Violence Services provide support for women and children who have experienced interpersonal violence (family violence, child physical/sexual abuse or trauma). In a safe and caring environment, we help women and children deal with the negative effects of violence and trauma together, to help stop this damaging cycle and build positive parent-child relationships together, for the future.

Child Development Institute Foundation supports the work of CDI by raising funds from individuals, foundations, corporations and through special events. To learn more visit our website at childdevelop.ca.
