We build solutions to real world problems by providing an environment where we turn theory into practice and learning means doing.
November came and with it the time to buy stockings - not for warmth, but to build a Van de Graaff generator. We also did some serious tinkering with the cloud chamber, to observe cosmic rays and particles. Want to discover our hands-on science? Or help us combine the two into a positron-electron detector? Come to our open nights!

At our open nights, we also host presentations on very diverse topics. Read more about november's presentations in this newsletter and stay tuned for next semester's presentations by joining us on meetup!

November was also a really busy month for the rack - our mini maker space on wheels. It spent a weekend in the Artlab, where it helped people reinvent the museum experience during the museomix hackathon. And then it wheeled all across the campus to join the first ever Repair Café at EPFL, which was organised by Unipoly, the association that works for a sustainable campus.

Keep on reading to learn more about November's highlights - there have been a lot of them!

See you soon!
November's highlights

Octanis @ EPFL Alumni Gala

We were invited to present the Octanis way of doing things at the EPFL Alumni Gala. Luckily, our cute little Constellation rover was there to encourage us, so that we didn't get nervous while speaking to a full Swiss Tech Convention Centre!

Presentations @ Octanis

We hosted three presentations in november - on how to build a business case out of smart rubber, on how to make DNA damage detection a citizen science project, and on the ups and downs of using environmental field sensors in Burkina Faso and Valais.
