Seminarians’ Advent Lessons & Carols
Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.
The Seminarians of the Diocese of Bridgeport begin the season of Advent at St. Mary's. Please come and support our future priests! At 5 p.m. we will also have Solemn Vespers and Benediction, led by the Viri Galiaei (our men's chant choir). The preacher will be Fr. Chris Perrella.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception
Friday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m.
For Solemn Mass, the Schola Cantorum will sing music by Francisco Guerrero, including his Missa Sancta et immaculata. Masses will also be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. (Low Mass), 12:10 p.m. (Sung Mass in English), and 7:30 p.m. (Sung Mass in Spanish).

Our Lady of Guadalupe
Sunday, Dec. 10 at 1:15 p.m.
Sung Mass in Spanish followed by a procession through the streets with the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, ending with a festive reception in the church hall.
Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. (Church of the Immaculate Conception, 414 E 14th St., NYC): Solemn High Mass sponsored by the Society of St. Hugh of Cluny (find out more).

 St. Mary's Annual Lessons & Carols Service
Friday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
With the St. Mary's Choir, the St. Mary's Student Schola, and the Coro Hispano de Santa María. Bring your family & friends to prepare in your hearts a home for Our Lord this Christmas! This simple & beautiful service, in which readings from sacred scripture alternate with sung meditations, illuminates a season of joyful expectation. Come hear the Gregorian chants of Advent, choral motets, & join in singing favorite hymns & carols of Advent & Christmas. The service concludes with Adoration & Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Lux Fulgebit to be featured on Millennium of Music and SacredMusic.fm
The week before Christmas, the Schola Cantorum's Christmas CD will be one of the featured albums on Robert Aubry Davis's Millennium of Music, public radio's longest-running program featuring early music. Millennium of Music is broadcast on stations all over the country, including WMNR in Connecticut, as well as SiriusXM Channel 76 ("Symphony Hall"), and also offers subscription access to a vast archive of past shows.
Lux Fulgebit will also be heard this Christmastide on the newly-founded Internet radio station SacredMusic.fm, which will stream Gregorian chant and Renaissance polyphony 24/7 online, as well as via iPhone and Android apps. SacredMusic.fm will launch on Christmas Day 2017. Find out more about this initiative, and donate to their cause if you are moved to do so!

Our St. Cecilia's Day Sale generated interest in the CD from all over the world, with orders coming in from Europe, Asia, and Australia! Many thanks to all who shared the CD promo video on YouTube (which has now been viewed over 1,500 times!) —and to our own Fr. Cipolla, who wrote a lovely testimonial about the CD and the importance of sacred music.

 Visit the St. Mary's website to find out more about the many events in our parish this December. Preview some of the music coming up in Advent, including Masses by Josquin and Ockeghem, and look forward to the Midnight Mass of Christmas, when the combined choirs of St. Mary's will offer Franz Schubert's beautiful Mass in G with strings.
